Why Join 6 Golfe Society?
As golf on the Algarve is becoming more and more expensive, the Directors of 6 Golfe Society hold annual meetings with the Directors of Golf at many of the Algarve Golf courses to discuss their proposed calendar and rates for the forthcoming year. By taking large numbers of players to the courses, 6 Golfe is able to negotiate preferential green fees for their organised golf days with the discounted rates being passed directly onto 6 Golfe Society Members and their Guests. This discounted ‘group’ green fee allows our players to play excellent courses at a fraction of the displayed ‘rack rate’,
Six Golfe Society is made up of many different types of golfers- it is a mix of both male and female players, all playing off handicaps varying from 36 into single figures. Membership is open to all levels of golfers and for new players with no proof of handicap, and entering their first competition, the Society will allocate a maximum handicap of 18 for men and 36 for ladies.
Our competition results and any handicap adjustments are calculated using the HandicapMaster software, allowing us to manage our members handicaps accurately. All of our results are published on our website and members can access more in-depth reports on the Master Scoreboard.co.uk website.
6 Golfe organise at least one golf event on a weekly basis throughout the year at various Central / Western Algarve courses, and Visitors to the Algarve are very welcome to join in with us. The official Society golf days will take place every Thursday throughout the year and to help you plan ahead, our event calendar shows at least the next two months fixtures.
Most of our golf days are individual Stableford competitions but occasionally, we do bring in other formats for special events and fun days such as Pairs Better Ball, Pairs Texas Scramble and 4 ball team Texas Scrambles. Apart from prizes for the winners and runners up, we also give prizes for nearest the pins and nearest the pin in two shots on selected holes and our members’ favourite award, the Booby Prize.
Bona fide Guests of our members are welcome to join in with our events and will play at the members green fee rate. However once the guest has played in three 6 Golfe Events, we ask that they take out their own membership to 6 Golfe Society.
Visitors are welcome.
A small competition entrance fee of 5€ is required from our Members and their guests with visitors being asked to pay a 10€ fee, which is used to pay for the prizes.
Green fees are payable at the course on the day in full in cash or by card (most major cards accepted).

As interest in playing in our Golf events increases, we may find it difficult to get sufficient tee times to be able to accommodate all those who want to play. Should we find that we are oversubscribed for any of our events and the courses are full, then Members bookings will take precedence over guest’s and visitor’s. bookings.
